The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors organized a Power Evening with the objective of having a very open and interesting discussion on Insider Training, which presently is a very topical issue both in Sri Lanka and world wide.
The turn out for the event was excellent. Unfortunately SLID had to turn away many late comers due to the lack of space.
The discussions that ensued were extremely interesting and highlighted the need for more education and awareness of the insider trading laws among investors as well ad directors, and the need for timely disclosures, improved board room ethics and good corporate governance.
