In today’s business world, every director needs to recognise the key financial concepts and terminology that underpin a successful understanding of their organisation’s financial position.

 

This course will demystify the world of finance, allowing you to monitor the financial health of your business, evaluate business plans with confidence and contribute more effectively to boardroom discussion.

 

Financial Stewardship and Accountability is Part 4 in the SLID Board Leadership Director Certification Programme and may be followed as a stand-alone or taken as part of the full qualification. An excellent programme complied with material from IFC, Global Governance Forum and accredited by the SEC. On completion of this part you will receive a Certificate of completion.

- Differentiate between the various sources of corporate finance available to a company and their relative advantages and disadvantages

- Asses the critical issues associated with determining a company’s capital gearing, dividend policy, and valuation

- Interpret the key components of capital investment appraisal

- Recognise financial crisis indicators

- Identify the audit committees organisation, roles and duties

- Understand whistleblowing, current oversight concerns, and regulatory developments
